2021 — A Year of Growth and Reality — February 1st, 2021 — Accomplishments

I ended up getting promoted, I hadn’t talked to my manager yet, I just texted him letting him know that if he needs me to come in I’d be able to and he texted me back saying he’s just going to go ahead and promote me. It surprised me so much because it was literally out of nowhere and we were supposed to talk the next day about what I could do to be promoted. I got so happy out of nowhere and I finally saw how what happened the other day, when someone who had been working there for a week was promoted before me, was meant to happen. If they hadn’t gotten promoted, I wouldn’t have texted my manager asking them what they thought I need to do in order to improve and it wouldn’t have led him to promote me today.

I was hurt so badly the other day when I found out that someone else who had been there for a much shorter time was already promoted. I had worked so hard at that job for months and was getting paid minimum wage, even after other people started there after me and were being paid more for the same position. I’m proud of myself for finally being promoted and seeing that my hard work is paying off.

When I got home from work I had homework I had to do and was so tired that I completely forgot about writing this, which is why it’s being uploaded so late. I didn’t get to work out at all yesterday, because I was busy doing too many other things, but I still felt good at the end of the day and I haven’t let my body have an active rest day yet so I think it was a good thing that I was able to take a quick break. I’m going to start back up again where I left off and continue to keep my priorities in check. These past few days that I’ve been doing it, I’ve felt really great and accomplished at the end of the day. It’s been really nice and I would’ve never expected it to make this much of a difference.
